Advanced features of Zodiac Davit Launched Liferafts
Manufactured with durable polyurethane coated fabric, all ZODIAC davit-launched liferafts are assembled using the advanced ZODIAC hot assembly technique, thermobondingTM.
Being computer-controlled, ThermobondingTM eliminates the inconsistencies inherent in the old-fashioned gluing methods still used by other manufacturers.
The fabric's chemical nature and the Thermobonding process make ZODIAC davit-launched liferafts especially inert to ageing factors in the marine environment and procure to ZODIAC davit-launched liferafts extreme strength and safety when loaded, an essential factor for this type of liferaft.
|
| Due to the fabric weight and structure, ZODIAC davit-launched liferafts are easy to service and require light, short sized but remarkably strong, glass reinforced plastic (GRP) containers, which give quick access to the lifting bridle. |
|
| All davit-launched liferafts have been submitted to 4 times overload test, fully loaded 3 metres drop test, side impact test and side abrasion test. |
|
Designed to be launched by a davit, ZODIAC davit-launched liferafts can also be dropped from up to 36 metres* in emergency evacuation conditions.
*25 and 37 persons davit-launched liferaft A Pack: 25 metres.
Equipment packs are sealed in strong watertight bags, secured to the internal safety line of the liferafts. |

The double insulated canopy is fitted with ventilation and observation portholes, a rainwater collector and
large, easy to close doors, successfully tested using immersion suit gloves. Supported by a strong
inflatable arch it is able to withstand gale force winds and extreme conditions. Finished in a high visible
colour, it also features retroflective tapes and radar attachments to help search and rescue services to
locate its position.
The outside signalling light and inside comfort light, fitted with a manual on/off switch to help
conserve
the 12 hours drycell batteries during daylight hours, automatically activate when the canopy is erecting.
The unique rust-proof ZODIAC firing head allows quick inflation even at -30°C (-22° F) in less than three
minutes whatever the size of the liferaft.
The remarkable, new and exclusive, built-in floor is a major breakthrough in survival equipment, providing
encased
protection against hypothermia and increased comfort. |
